Going home

 23rd April

MP3 track of the day - bohemian rhapsody- Queen

Weather: Great

Packing and cleaning. That’s all I saw my parents do as I crawled around caravan. My dad put bags upon bags into the car whereas my mum vacuumed the caravan. When I was put into the car I was pretty tired therefore, I had a snooze just after saying goodbye to the caravan.

When I awoke we were in the car park of Holkham Hall. The weather was amazing. After visiting a boring shop, we sat down for lunch on one of the many lawns. This estate is huge! There were lawns surrounding all sides of this huge house. There was a big lake too with freshly mowed lawns all around it. I was enjoying myself; just crawling around our picnic mat. Then I was put back into my pushchair and off we went for the longest walk ever. The grounds of this house were massive and I tried to warn my parents that the map they had wasn’t to scale but it was no good. We walked for miles up to an obelisk. At this point the sun was beating down. My mum tied two cloths together and draped it over my pushchair. It kept the sun off me however, I did look silly and hoped other babies wouldn’t see me.

Finally, my parents decided to turn around as there was no end in sight. As we walked back towards the car past the house once more, I had a ‘I told you so’ smile on my face. We had spent 3 hours at Holkham Hall and it was time to Leave. I knew that the journey home would be a long one so I decided to get comfortable and go to sleep again.

I awoke once home. I couldn’t wait to play with my toys, including my ’Jumper-too’, again. In fact, I had slept so much in the car that I played with my toys until 10:30pm ... which my parents seemed really happy about.

Looking forward to my next holiday

Lazy days

 22nd April

MP3 track of the day - the importance of being idle - Oasis

Weather- excellent again. A little windy than previous days

Today has been a great day. We didn’t do a lot so I had a lot of time to play with my toys and crawl. After I had my morning snooze, we drove into Cromer for our final fish and chips. I have really enjoyed the food I have eaten this holiday and it’s given me some ideas on what to demand when I get home.

My mum wanted to do some last minute shopping therefore, dad and I spent most of the time looking into the shop windows my mum was currently looking around.

When back at the caravan we went for a walk around the park which involved a quick go on the swings.

For the rest of the evening all three of us relaxed. I spent my time thinking of my holiday holiday and decided that it was pretty good. Looking forward to the next one.

Japanese food

 21st April 2021

MP3 track of the day - Victoria and Albert - young Victoria

Weather: Same as the previous days just a little cooler.

It seems as though today was going to be a busy day. My parents were running around this morning getting ready and I knew that the car seat was soon coming. What I didn’t know was how long the journey would be.

Only 45 minutes as it turned out. I arrived in a suburb of Norwich where my dad wanted to visit a board game shop called Zatu. I heard my dad say that he could buy everything thing in the shop but my mum didn’t look impressed. We left empty handed and I wondered why we had stopped at all.

In 10 minutes we were parked up in a car park in the centre of Norwich. We went to a lovely Japanese restaurant where I loved the food. I was so excited I almost fell out of my high chair trying to eat more rice. After that things went down hill and we went shopping. We visited Jarrods; Norwich’s department store which had some nice bits and bobs. My mum bought me a toy otter which I love. I then went to sleep as my parents went to a couple of game shops, a couple of clothe shops and M&S. By M&S I had enough. I cried loads but it turned out that I didn’t need to. Both mum and dad were tired and wanted to go home.

I played with my toys all the way back to the caravan. Once at the caravan I had a quick crawl. I realized soon that I was a lot more tired than I thought. I ate dinner and then went to bed soon after.

Lazy day

MP3 track of the day- Jumping Jack Flash - Rolling Stones

Weather: Stunning. Another wonderful day. Lovely and warm with blue skies and little wind.

I awoke to a more pleasant day. It looks as though my parents were not in a rush; I even got to have my morning snooze in the caravan while my dad had a freezing cold shower. Once done we went to sherringham.

My dad ran off to get his haircut whereas I went around the shops with my mum. I don’t like shopping so I was glad when my dad turned up so I could wait outside and watch people. Yet again my mum and dad bought fish and chips and this time, I wasn’t going to miss out.

I wasn’t offered as much fish, or as many chips as I felt I should have been. I therefore made sure I had my fair share of the ice cream they bought next. Though very cold I ate a lot. The mango flavour was a little too sour for my liking but I did enjoy my dad’s coconut one. We had a quick walk along the coast before going back to the car.

Surprisingly, we weren’t in the car long enough for me to start crying at full volume. We stopped at Fellbrigg estate were my parents bought me a National Trust passport. Each time I visit a house I get a stamp. After thirty stamps I get a certificate... really cool hey!

All the other children were playing whereas I was still stuck in the pushchair. Even though the walk was lovely I still made sure my parents knew that I wasn’t happy. Finally, we stopped walking and I was allowed out of the pushchair and onto the picnic blanket. I had a good race around, I climbed over my mum and pulled myself up  on my pushchair. The good times ended too soon and I found myself back in the car. I didn’t mind as I thought we were heading back to the caravan... how wrong was I!

We pulled into a Morrison’s and went shopping. I hate shopping and I made sure everyone in the store knew that this was the case.

It seems this did the trick as my parents didn’t.  shop for long and soon we were back at the caravan and I was allowed to play. At dinner I was a little confused that my parents only ate half the Chinese food they bought. I then discovered that there was no gas tonight. Dad phoned uncle P and it turns out the washing machine had nothing to do with the gas therefore waiting for his shower until the washing had finished was for nothing. Oh bother!

Sutton Hoo

 19 April 2021

Weather: Amazing. Sunny all day and pretty hot.

MP3 track of the day - walk 500 miles - Proclaimers

There was a lot of activity this morning. My parents seemed to be getting ready quickly. I was picked up and surprise, surprise back in the car seat. Secretly I didn’t mind. For some reason I was really tired and I slept all the way to a place called Sutton Hoo (2hrs and 15 minutes away).

My mum awoke me as she put me in my pushchair. First of all we headed to a big helmet of an Anglo-Saxon (whatever that is). We entered the site to find a model of the boats structure which was found here in 1939. There was a film called ‘The dig’ which is why my parents wanted to come. I didn’t watch it as I was having too much fun in my jumper-too. 1,400 years ago an Anglo-Saxon king was buried here with a lot of treasure. We saw the house the owner of the land lived in from the outside before visiting the burial mound site. We then took a rather bumpy walk around the site before stopping in the house’s grounds to have a picnic. We were on a hill and we could see the burial mounds to our left, and the river down below in front. Best of all, I could crawl around for ages on a blanket and the grass. If this is a holiday then, I like them.

All too soon we were back in the car but, only for 40 minutes. We stopped off at a place called Southwald. I think dad drove the wrong way as it looked as though we were driving on the beach at one point. It was so bumpy. Southwald is very nice. I fell asleep and, once again, my parents ate fish and chips without telling me! I heard them say that these were good too! Mum bought a mug and dad some posh local chocolates. I decided to save my money for later.

It was now 5:30pm and we were miles from home. I decided to stay awake as dad said that he was taking the coast road. There was a lovely view all the way - well a part from a place called ‘Great Yarmouth’ - back to the caravan.

Once back I had a bit of a crawl before bed time. Mum and dad watched Senna but I declined the offer to stay and watch as it would finish at midnight.

Something New

 18th April 2021

MP3 of the day - I like driving in my car - madness

Weather: brilliant. Sunny all day but not too hot.

I had a great nights sleep. I woke up and had a lovely breakfast. I was just looking forward to a day of crawling around the caravan when I got picked up. I had no choice; I was heading to the car and there was nothing I could do about it. I cried a little to let my parents know that I was not happy before going to sleep.

When I awoke I was at the coast. I was put into my pushchair but I didn’t mind; Moray Quay looked quite interesting. I was pushed along a dike towards Blakeney. The path was really bumpy and I was jumping around in my seat. Once in Blakeney I saw the crab fishing. It looked exciting but cold. We had a walk around Blakeney and I was very impressed. What I wasn’t impressed with, is that my parents bought fresh prawns and didn’t give me any. Once I had witnessed my parents finish their fish, we finally had a picnic on the coast where I had a whole banana! On the walk back to the car I had a snooze.

I got woken up just to be put in the car. I wasn’t happy; I just played with my chairs belt and would not look at my mum. It was ages until we stopped again. When we did stop I could hear my parents say that we were in a brand new place. From my pushchair, Burnham Market seemed very nice indeed. We had a walk around and the weather was great. Sadly the fish and chip shop was shut.

All too soon we were back in the car. I keep hearing the word ‘holiday’ ... maybe it means driving a lot. We stopped off in holt where I heard my parents had a wonderful white hot chocolate- I didn’t get any - before getting to Cromer. I was really tired so I fell asleep. I mean; it’s Cromer ... I was here yesterday so I wouldn’t miss anything right? Well, while I was asleep my parents had been to the’Chip Bucket’ and ate them without telling me. Still, I heard them say that it was only okay.

Finally we made it home. I couldn’t wait to have a bit of a crawl. I was also given a cool bottle of milk and my favorite TV programme.

I don’t like driving

 17th April 2021

MP3 track of the day - potato- Samwize gamgee

Weather: sunny but not too hot. In short ... perfect

I thought today would just be a normal day of eating, crawling and bouncing in my ‘jumper-too’. How wrong was I! Everything started as normal however, my parents seemed busy, going back-and-forth to the car; I didn’t really pay any attention. That was until I got picked up and strapped into my car seat. I didn’t ask for this therefore I cried and cried and cried. After 30 minutes of continual crying at the top of my voice I knew it was no good so I went to sleep.

Next thing I knew, we were still in the car! I must have been asleep for at least 2 hours. Finally we stopped at a huge magical building called ‘Tesco Kings Lynn’. Finally I was out of my car seat; but straight into my pushchair! I decided to not complain until I knew all the facts; maybe we were going somewhere I could crawl. We entered Dobbies cafe and I was still seated however, I was not annoyed as I was being fed toasted sandwiches and chips therefore, for now, I was a happy chappy. Sadly once this ended we went shopping for mostly grown up food! I had enough. I was still in my pushchair and I wanted to get out! I cried and I cried. My parents tried to entertain me by driving my pushchair like an F1 car and giving me a packet of pasta to play with... but it was no good. I cried all the way back to the car. Then ... they put me back in my car seat! From previous experience it wasn’t worth crying again so I drank some milk and went to sleep.

When I awoke, I was in a place I kind of remembered. I could hear my parents say ‘aunty Jo’s Caravan’. Finally I was allowed to crawl around and boy did I! An hour must have gone past and I was still enjoying myself when my mum picked me up. This couldn’t be good. We went outside and closer to the car! Again I found myself being strapped in and this time I cried.

We didn’t drive for long. We got out in a place called Cromer and I heard my mum say the magic words, ‘fish and chips’. I like fish and chips so the drive was worth it. Still, I wasn’t going to wait in that huge queue outside Mary Jane’s fish and chip shop. I signaled to my mum and she took me on a walk while my dad waited to collect my dinner.

Fish and chips by the sea. Lovely; a little cold so we ate quickly. I don’t think that I was as cold as my dad as he had forgotten his jacket. Once back at the caravan I watched the F1 with great interest before doing a bit more crawling and going to sleep.

Hopefully I won’t be in the car tomorrow
