It's been a busy start to 2022. On 28th March I packed my suit case - taking a lot of care - for a 6 week trip to Japan! This was the first time I had left the UK, first time showing my new passport to a lovely boarder guard and first time on a plane. I spent 6 weeks in Japan where I stayed with my grandparents. It was an amazing time!
I arrived back in the UK in early June. I decided to keep my suitcase packed - made a few slight changes - because, three weeks later I was off on holiday again! Lucky me.
28th May 22- I knew another holiday was going to start today as there were a lot of bags downstairs. I decided to have a 2-hour sleep to give my dad loads of time to pack the car. Early afternoon we were off to my mum's work to pick her up before heading east. The drive was lovely; I spent the whole time looking out the window before having a short sleep. We got to my great-aunties caravan around 8pm. After unloading and tea, I went to bed. I wasn't long followed by my parents ... I guess it was a pretty tiring day for all.
29th May 22- I normally hate food shopping however, I had heard my dad say that "...as this was a holiday we could have anything we wanted..." I tried to use frantic gestures in Morrisons to indicate the items I wanted however, I only got half of what I wanted (and my parents got loads of things!). We unloaded the food back at the caravan and I thought the day was over however, after lunch we went out again. The day was beautiful and sunny therefore we walked to Overstrand and towards the coast. We then took the coastal path all the way to Cromer ... which was actually quite a long walk (1hr 30mins). It was beautiful though and, luckily for me (but not my parents) there were loads of stones and sand for me to stop and play with along the way. Finally we made it to Cromer where we had fish and chips before heading back to the caravan along the road.
30th May 22- Today was our usual trip to Sheringham where mum and I went around the shops and dad got his hair cut. We had some food to eat, which mum had made, before we left Sheringham and headed to Sheringham park. Dad wanted to take a different path to the one we had taken the last time we came here ... which went well. The first part of the path was easy to follow. We had to make a short diversion to a tree when the heavens opened for 8 minutes or so. The second part of the path was very difficult to follow and we ended up getting lost. It didn't matter as we managed to get back to the car before more rain came in.
31st May 22- My mum had found this park and she wanted to go. My dad was not as eager but was intrigued. We arrived at Holt Country Park and only had to spend £2 for all-day parking. The park was wonderful. It was in a wooded setting which my parents said reminded them of Kelling Heath - (I've never been to Kelling Heath). The ground was soft and bouncy. My mum put my rucksack on and off I went, following this path and that ... all under the tree canopy. As we went down one path, I saw a children's park where I got to have a go on a lovely swing (my parent's were eating a chocolate cake and a sausage roll from the park's cafe). After this I was pretty tired therefore, I climbed into my pushchair and just enjoyed the view. After this, my parents tried a new cafe close to Fellbrigg Hall which, was okay ... but breakfast looked better. One benefit was that the hot chocolate was the best my dad had ever tasted; or so he said.
1st June 22- Today we took a drive. I thought that we were off to Norwich however, we went to 'Roy's town' ... or Wrexham as most people know it by. We first went for a walk around the broads ... which was nice but short. We then went around the town centre of Wrexham where almost every shop seemed to owned by a guy called Roy. Finally mum - yet again - found a restaurant she wanted to try. It was at the train station and, the restaurant itself, was designed to look like a carriage. Dad looked a little 'peaky' as he read the prices however, his hamburger and milk shake - plus mum's pulled pork - was delicious and both agreed it had been worth it.
2nd June 22- Today was the Jubilee celebrations and Dad wanted to be in Cromer for a certain time. This left us the morning. With the weather being amazing we headed back to Overstrand. This time, we went down to the beach where I got to play with the most stones I had ever seen! Dad and mum tried to provide cover for me as it was so hot and I was worried about getting burnt. Once we had seen the beach we headed back to the caravan before walking into Cromer. The streets were packed with cars ... Luckily we had walked in! Once at the seafront I didn't like it; too many people. There was however a WW2 Spitfire doing loops in the air. My dad really enjoyed that. Before leaving Cromer, all three of us had some lovely doughnuts and mum ordered dinner at the local Thai restaurant which needed to be picked up later. We walked back to the caravan only to get in the car and drive back to Cromer for mum to pick up our Thai meal. It was gorgeous.
3rd June 22- Today we were off to Norwick. The drive was okay. We parked right in the centre and then we looked around some 'boring shops'. We then went to a Japanese restaurant where we had some lovely food. I also got to look around the cathedral which was ace ... lovely and cool inside. We just had time for an ice cream before leaving Norwich and getting to Fellbrigg before closing. We went for a good walk through the woods before returning to the caravan.
4th June 22- Our final full day ... how time flies. Grandad and Grandma were coming later but, for now, we went to Marston Quay. I remembered part of the walk along the dike but I forgot just how long it took to get to Blakeney. I also fell over a couple of times due to the stones in the path ... which hurt. However, the biggest suprise was just how cold it was. We didn't stay long in Blakeney. Once back at the caravan, Grandad and Grandma had arrived. I stayed with them for the evening while mum and dad went for a meal at the White Horse. They said it was delicious and I was a little jealous.
5th June 22- I had a play in the morning while dad parked the car. After this we stayed in the caravan for a bit before it was time to leave. Dad drove the whole way home. The only issue was that we had to cross the A1. My Dad's, Mum's and I's eyes were on storks. Traffic was travelling so quickly that it took 10 minutes to cross safely. Never again, both my mum, dad and I agreed.
And that is it! I wonder where my next holiday will be?
