I think today was the longest day of our holiday so far. Still, we left the flat around 11ish. Mum, dad, Yuto and Haruki left for Pickering where, they left the car and boarded the midday train back to Goathland. This was the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway and it was very nice indeed. We both had obviously had too much fun already and went to sleep as the train carried along its journey.
Once in Goathland things seemed very familiar. Grandad likes a programme called Heartbeat and this village looked just like it however, the village was a lot smaller than we both thought. During our time there we bought Grandad some birthday presents and had lunch. We took cake away and ate it on the train back to Pickering (Goathland station was used in the first Harry Potter too). As we left, grandma and grandad - who had just turned up - waved us off.
Once back in pickering, everything was shut. All we did was walk around for a bit, bought somethings from a shop called 'Boots' and dad tried to get his hair cut (but the only hair dressers open were 'apointment only').
After giving up we all headed to the 'Fox & Rabbit' for a delicious evening meal. Haruki ate garlic bread, chicken and chips whereas Yuto ate chicken and beans. Mum and dad had a roast which, apparently, was delicious. It was about 7:30pm when we left the wonderful pub and returned to the flat to watch 'Goodbye Christopher Robin'.
Today was a great day!
